Nigerian Musician Dead: Celebrities Mourn

Top Nigerian celebrities are mourning the passing away of musician Sule Sax. The talented musician before his death was the saxophonist and a member of the band of popular Fuji artiste Saheed Osupa.

Tributes poured in after Saheed Osupa announced his demise in a brief and emotional post on Instagram.

According to Osupa, Sule Sax, born Abiodun Lasisi, would forever be remembered for his good works.

“This is hard. I am saddened! The memory we shared are numerous, but no amount of words can express my grief at this period! Rest In Peace, Sule Sax. You shall forever be remembered for all your good deeds.

“May Almighty God give the family you left behind, the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss!” Saheed wrote.

Reacting to the sad development, top celebrities such as Latin, Yinka Quadri, Seyi Edun, Toyin Adewale, and Kemi Ojo mourned the dead.

Taking to the singer’s comment section, Latin wrote, “May his soul rest in peace.”

Yinka Quadri wrote, “May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”

Seyi Edun and Kemi Ojo asked Saheed Osupa to accept their condolences.

Toyin Adegbola aka Toyin Tomato wrote, “Haaaaa, may his soul rest in peace.”

Toyin Adewale said, “May his soul rest in perfect peace Ijmn.”

Bimpe Akintunde, on her part, wrote “May his soul Rest in peace.”

In December 2019, it was revealed that Sule Sax was hospitalized and in need of a kidney transplant which would cost around N15 million in India. Saheed raised the alarm, stating that he could not foot the bill alone. He begged for the support of Nigerians and asked the public to come to the aid of one of his trusted hands.

NDLEA EXTENDS RECRUITMENT Application deadline for a week

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Thursday extended the deadline for the ongoing recruitment application by one week.

The online application portal, which opened on Sunday, March 12 and was initially scheduled to close on Saturday, April 8, will now close on Monday, April 17, 2023, due to the extension.

The Director, Media & Advocacy, NDLEA Headquarters, Femi Babafemi, who disclosed the extension in a statement on Thursday, said the extension would enable applicants having challenges with the process to complete their application.

He added that the extension was approved by the NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd.).

“This will enable applicants who are yet to complete their application process to do so and those interested but yet to sign up to also take advantage of the extra days to fill their application on the portal,” the statement added.

AGAINST All Pleas, FCTA demolishes Illegal Structures at Jsbi-Dakibui road Corridor

ABUJA – Against all please, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on Thursday demolished illegal structures obstructing the Jabi-Dakibu road corridor.

This is as affected residents cry foul that they paid N10,000 each to the local chief in order to halt the demolition exercise.

However, the Senior Special Assistant to FCT Minister on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement, Comrade Ikharo Attah who led the cleanup in the Idu area, in collaboration with the Department of Development Control, Security Services, Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) and all relevant security agencies said no matter the plea, the illegal structures will be demolished.

He decried the rate at which people encroach on road corridors in Abuja and said the Minister is very sad and would continue to reclaim the road corridor from the illegal squatters.

According to him, “We are in Jabi-Dakibiu to reclaim the road corridor where people built and encroach upon. Land is exhaustible when people finish selling their land, then they start selling the road corridors “.

Responding to the complaint of the residents that they contributed N10,000 in order to dissuade FCT staff from removing their illegal structures, Attah hinted, “It is a sad irony, once your place is marked for removal just pack and move to another place, no single indigene is here now. The FCT Minister Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, has warned us on the issue of taking bribe from anybody and today we have come to remove it and the person who collected the money am sure he is not here.

Those who gave bribes are already weeping and trying to pack their things. I will advise them not to give bribes and not to build on the road corridor again.

“For those who contributed N10,000 each and gave to the Chief for onward transmission to us should go back to the Chief because we don’t take bribes “.

He said the indigene always denied selling land to them but what they sold to them were farmlands so he urged Abuja, residents, to stop buying lands from the locals.

One of those affected residents, Blessing who was in tears said, she just bought the house in January 2023 for N1.4m.

“I just bought this house in January, for N1.4 million, from the former owner who has relocated abroad. I don’t have anywhere to go, I was at work when my neighbour phoned me that they have demolished my house”.

Also, Esara from Akwa Ibom state, said he has been living in the area for 12 years. He said his former place was demolished so he moved to Dakibiu to rent.

“When they came to mark, they told us they won’t come if we settle them, so we contributed N10,000 per house which we gave to the vigilante to give to the Chief to help us talk to them.

“It is the Chief of Dakibiu that sold the land, he sell N150, 000 for one bedroom apartment”.

Meanwhile, Andrew Ayame, who said he is from Kaduna state, said he packed and relocated his family before the bulldozers arrived on Thursday. He commended FCTA for giving them enough time to relocate.

“I am helping some of the victims because they are not around and my house too is affected. They gave us notice so I had to relocate my family. I am just helping my friend”, he said.

TRAGEDY: 48 Nigerians Dead in Fresh Attack

At least 46 people have been reportedly killed in Umogidi village of Entekpa-Adoka district in the Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State by armed invaders.

The same village suffered invasion by the gunmen on Tuesday during which three people were killed.

The Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Bako Eje, whose son was also killed in the latest attack, told Daily Trust on the telephone that the armed men surrounded the village again on Wednesday evening barely 24 hours after the first attack and opened gunfire on the inhabitants.

Eje said so far, this afternoon (Thursday), 46 corpses had been recovered while many people were still missing.

The chairman said his son and other relatives were victims of the latest attack which occurred about 5pm on Wednesday while mourners were burying the three other deceased.

‘I was A complete Mummy’s Boy’. — BBNaija Star, Saga Speaks on Mom’s Death..

Former Big Brother Naija Housemate, Saga Adeolu, has opened up on the painful experience of losing his mother after his 21st birthday.

Naija News reports that Saga made this known during an interview with media personality, Chude Chideonwo, stating he was a complete mummy’s boy.

The reality TV star described the death of his mother as a ‘horror show’ noting it left a huge vacuum, notwithstanding the incident made him strong.

Recalling some of their old memories, Saga said his mother often pays him a visit at the University, celebrated every birthday, and he would also go out with her whenever his father refuses.

He said: “I lost my mom in 2014, she was sick after she did my 21st birthday and it was three months of a horror show, it makes me who i am today.

“I was mummy’s boy, complete. My mum used to come to school every weekend. She died when I was in final year.

“She came every weekend and did every birthday. Sometimes she even insists I come home every weekend, she will drive me back to school after church.

“I was proper mummy’s boy. If my dad doesn’t go out with her, I’d go out with her like her husband, I’d wear her husband’s clothes.

“When she left, she gave me the opportunity to be my own man.

“My father and I had to first fight because my mum occupied all the space in my heart. My dad was also good to us, but she was just there 100%. So it left a very huge vacuum.

“My dad lost his love, I lost my mother so both of us were just kinda going mad. So it really made me be my own man because I had to find my feet”
