As we rely more and more on digital devices such as smartphones, laptops, and tablets, we also expose ourselves to prolonged screen time, which can be detrimental to our eyes. Here are five effects of too much screen light on the eyes:

1. Digital Eye Strain: Prolonged screen time can cause digital eye strain, which includes symptoms such as headaches, dry or irritated eyes, and blurred vision.
2. Blue Light: Screens emit blue light that can cause eyestrain, headaches, and disrupted sleep patterns.
3. Reduced Blink Rate: When using screens, we tend to blink less often, which can cause dry eyes and irritation.
4. Myopia: Excessive screen time has been linked to the development of myopia, or nearsightedness, particularly in children and adolescents.
5. Macular Degeneration: Prolonged exposure to blue light from screens can damage the retina and contribute to the development of macular degeneration, a leading cause of blindness in older adults.

To protect your eyes, it is important to take regular breaks from screen time, adjust the brightness of your screen, and use blue light filtering technology, among other things.
